Trindledown Venus 66
Back in 2013 Venus developed a cancerous growth in the centre of her right eye. The vet at the time suggested that, as you couldn't tell how far the growth had gone, we cull her... But she had a young heifer calf at foot and was in calf again.
At this stage she was still young and strong so we decided that removing her eye and the growth was the best course of action, so we went ahead with the operation

At this stage she was still young and strong so we decided that removing her eye and the growth was the best course of action, so we went ahead with the operation
As you can see the op was a success and although she had a bit of an infection the eye was removed and the scar eventually healed.
Venus went on to have 4 more healthy calves but sadly had to go at the beginning of 2019 due to old age and poor health
